It would be good for Huckabee to take the lead over McCain. McCain is too much along the lines of the current administration. Matter of fact, in todays headlines, Bush is endorsing McCain as a "true conservative". I would bewary of anyone that man endorses! Scary! At least he's giving us the headsup of who NOT to vote for.

I voted for Ron Paul in the primary. Unfortunately, Oklahoma is an all Democratic state. They voted Clinton. They need to Wake UP! LOL

No, Ron Paul will NOT be running on a third party ticket. He will stay on as a Republican.

I would like to see Huckabee take the lead for the Republicans. Couldn't you see a Huckabee/Ron Paul for President and Vice President??? That would be Wonderful!!!

I would prefer Paul/Huckabee. But we both know that won't happen.grumble  I voted for Ron as well on super tuesday. It really bothers me that the media has so much influence on whom people vote for. That people will trust getting information on a candidate just from what news reports or commercials tell them. Ahhh I'm so tired and I can't go to sleep...anyhow. ohwell

THE MEDIA

Our country has been SOLD OUT for many years, and it is not only the MEDIA's fault.

Where I agree the the media has a very large AXE TO GRIND I also find it amusing that a very large % of voters each election do NOT VOTE thus leaving it up to the a very small % of voters to decide where this country will go next.

We have a very large OIL and GAS reserve yet nothing has been done to keep our gasoline prices stable nor has ANY of the CANIDATES said one word about it

We hada chance for a politian from the business sector but he dropped out a few daysw ago WHY???? because he could not find the support he needed to continue

As we look toward the up coming election we have once again made it EXTREMELY HARD if NOT IMPOSSIBLE to vote in to office a person willing to do what is really needed and that would start with the SOFT MONEY INTEREST.... We will agin find yourselves in the same boat wheather it is a Democrate or a Republican in the OVAL OFFICE..

Choices this coming FALL

Hillary vs. McCain

OBama vs. McCain

Hillary vs. Huckabee

Obama vs. Huckabee

WOW for different options to pick from and yet none of which even excites 50% of the voting public So once again our President will not be elected by the vast MAJORITY but by a few die hard Rebuplicans nad Democrates and we will once again have the voting problems.. and the soft money and the large companies dividing up your rights

The potential downfall of using up our oil reserves is far more dangerous than steadying gas prices would be advantageous. If there is no viable alternative energy source in the near future, and there doesn't look to be, then being forced to be 100% reliable on foreign oil would be disastrous. The reserves are our leverage right now, so that we can at least claim that we could get by without foreign oil for a little. We can hold that over the Middle East and Russia and Venezuela's heads. If they knew that we had no oil of our own at all, they'd be charging $200 a barrel, lol.

The data on voter turnout varies depending on the percentage calculation (percentage of total voting age population vs. percentage of total voting eligible population), but by any estimates, between 55% and 64% voted in the 2004 election. It hasn't been since 1996 that the number was smaller than 50%. Granted, that is still a woefully low number, but it can't be said that it was less than the majority of people.

Ok first of all, in the primaries, there is no competition between Democrats and Republicans. The votes that Clinton garnered shouldn't have affected Paul's numbers at all.

Secondly, are the two similar enough in their views? I like Paul, but I always thought that Huckabee was pretty extreme and in my view Paul seems to make a lot more sense than him.

I agree with you that Paul seems to make more sence than Huckabee, or anyone else for that matter. But if he didn't get enough votes to be a Presidential Candidate, perhaps, if Huckabee is, he could choose Ron as his running mate. I am sure Mr. Paul could be an influence to Huckabee. He could run things behind the scenes, as Cheney does now.
