Hello there ! I'm from Iowa and it would be
nice to meet someone from close by. I live near the Des Moines area. 11 miles south of there. The city is to much for me.
I'll take the small town living over the city any day. I watch this thread and see how many of us there is. I know we definetly don't want to talk about the weather. What a LOOOONG Winter for us.........Now, the thunderstorms and rain and Tornados. Isn't Iowa Grand?.................

I've been in iowa most of my life but not for much longer plan on living on the road in camper in 2 or 3 years. I live in a basement apartment so winter doesn't end for me.

I have lived in Iowa all my life.
Farthest South is Centerville (where I was born). And Centerville, Boone, & Indianola are the Western-most towns I've lived in. The farthest East is Muscatine, the farthest North is where I'm at now... Central City. There have been several others in between (Mt Pleasant, Fairfield, the Amanas, to name a few), but all in the South East Quarter of the state!

Des Moines here. I've traveled the world but always call Iowa home. I love it here. The people are the best! The cost of living is affordable. And you can get anywhere/anything within a half hour. (if you live in a city) We have no traffic jams and no smog. The art and music scenes rock. The biking (bicycles with pedals) is top knotch! (RAGBRAI anyone?)The winter sucks, but April - October is so freakin' awesome and action packed that somehow it makes November - March bearable.
