Morning Carol
No, I set out to make a place for widowed people to try to pass on some help that I received in my early days of grief. Sort of a pay~it~forward type of thing. I know that losses are so very different, like loss of a parent, grandparent, and spouse. I felt like if anyone wanted to start a topic for general grief support, they could do that as I'm sure there is a need for that as well. |

Hello to everyone! I think it's wonderful that there is a w/w area on this site. I am a young widow and thought I would try the 'online dating thing'. Anyway, thanks for this area--it helps me when I read through the threads.

I'm sorry for your losses Kiteman. I've also lost both parents as well. There are many online chat rooms for support of all kinds of losses that you might find helpful.

Good Morning everybody!
Kite, there is a place called GROWW, which stands for Grief Recovery Online for Widows/ers. It also has chat rooms for the loss of parents/children, suicide losses etc. There is one Main room for all to go in during the day. And they are moderated by Hosts. This was the one I found first and it helped so much in those early days. |

To the women of the group; has anyone changed their last name back to their maiden name? I was thinking about it, but not sure...

I dont know really. I thought that by getting rid of all the things that reminded me of the life I cant have with him, it might help me move on.

I have not changed my name back to my maiden name. I don't have kids so I suppose I could have. To be honest that never crossed my mind that I recall. I think that you should think about that though. Don't make any snap decisions that you haven't given much thought.
So far as that "getting rid of things that remind me of the life I can't have with him", changing your name back will not do that hon.

Outandabout, I would think long & hard on that.
I don't know how long it has been for you, I regret some of the hasty decisions I made during the first 2 yrs. A legal process won't change what is in your mind. Only feeds the attornies more money. Just my thoughts. |

Moving on for me is realizing the strengths that the passed one gave me and not blocking that she was human. That like me she had weaknesses that we both shared, too. It is making myself better and not living in the past.
