I'm home sick....was up and down all night long.
I sent our nurse home who comes to care for my special needs kiddo while I work. Seemed silly for 2 of us to be here. The nurse was gone not even an hour before my lil' sweetpea starts hollering holy heck from her bed where she was supposed to be napping. I go investigate and my daughter is covered in Poo from her neck to her toes!!! We all know when our stomachs are already in turmoil how hard it is to smell something bad. BLECK! She's all cleaned up and sweet smelling now and giggling while watching cartoons. I already called the nurse and alerted her we would be needing her tomorrow....hehe. I need to go back to work and the kiddo obviously has the same 24 hour bug I had. I just hope the nurse and others don't catch it. I absolutely HATE the start of the flu season!!!!! Anyone else have it already? |

No pukies or poopies here, but my oldest son was sent home from school on his birthday Monday with a fever of 101.3* Now his fever is gone, but I'm stuck with a sore throat.

Awwww, you guys too, stay healthy!!!
We are over it all here and now I'm just kicking myself in the butt for having to miss work! My paychecks have been sorely lacking lately, time to tighten up the budget! I'm debating about the Flu shots this year....they never really prevent all Flu, but I suppose a good preventative tool for some strains. |

I've never had a flu shot and never had the flu. Just wash your hands a lot and use Purell.
Oh, and those stomach bugs, you are contagious before you are symptomatic, so it's no ones fault. I am glad you are both smelling sweet and feeling better. |

I get the flu shot for my son, with his special needs and weak immune system, it sure helps him through the winter months. Especially when the other parents at his school aren't smart enough to keep their kids home when they are sick. |

That "bugs" me sometimes too.....people will give their kids advil and send them to school hoping they make it through the day without having to come get them. I realize some people (I myself am one of them) really can't afford to miss work, but it sure keep the bugs going in circles. |

I think we have all been guilty of sending our kids to school when they should have stayed home. |

I would so hope that every parent would take a flu shot and have their child have one. I know it is a personal choice but for a moment consider this. Flu can and is deadly and it is nearly impossible to forgive yourself when you loose a loved one because they have contracted a case of flu because you skipped the minimal pain and cost that it takes to make them safer. My husband that survived a miltary career and had the constitution of a mule contracted flu at 36 years old he was robbed of his future, I lost a husband, a mother lost a child, two sisters and a brother lost a sibling, and three sons lost a parent in what seemed like a blink in time. No flu shots will not prevent every single possible strain of flu but it is like do you want to strike down 99% of your risk or put yourself out there knowing that a disease that will make you miserable is probably going to feel like a truck run over you could in fact wipe out your life as you know it.

Well, I think this thread jinxed me.
I was at my kid's game tonight. I heard a loud splash behind me. I moved away quickly. He was vomiting big time. He got some on my jeans.
