Interesting though, i'll give it a try. Looking fwd to some of those soup recipes too. My mom made vegetable/beef the other night, that stuff was off the chain!

I like to make homemade soups too, lately my stomach likes soups better than most foods. Have you ever made homemade noodles for the soups or dumplings??
I even make my "pot roast" as an almost soup with carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, and cabbage --- just love that stuff. And, yes Mark, strawberry jam on the cornbread is killer, especially homemade jams. So is raspberry jam. Honey is good too. Never tried to use the cornbread as a shortcake though. Interesting idea. I will look forward to your recipes when you post them 62, thanks for the offer to share.

Made a bit pot of chili just now. Letting it simmer a while before we eat it. Smells delish! Question: do any of you add sugar to yours? I grew up that way, we add about 1/4 cup of sugar to it. Other people I know use more of the peppers and spicy ingredients. The only spices I use are real garlic and onion and chili powder.
Good thick bowl of chili always brings back good memories. |
