I think it is safe to say, that the OP thinks that if he spends a lot of money on a woman, he expects to get laid. And that if she doesn't put out, she just not worth it. I really don't believe that he's looking for anything meaningful like the rest of us are. But that's just my take on it; I've been known to be wrong before.

I don't think you are far off with that thought.

oh and somebody just reminded me of our date to the bookstore where we shared a pot of tea and read to each other for less than ten bucks
it's not how much you spend but how much you enjoy each others company

Generally I have never felt compelled to have sex with someone based on how much cash they threw around in front of me on a date. Some men might feel entitled based on that alone and if that is the case, they wont be hearing from me again and what they think is my phone number will in fact be the local pet cemetery downtown here.

Well I think it will vary but women will generally get a new outfit and shoes for a date, maybe some accessories like jewelry also. Depending on where you shop, a nice full outfit like that can range from $100-$200. Then some ladies might get their nails or hair done. It really depends. I know some dates Ive gone ALL out and others, eh, I might brush my hair and shower.
Im not sure what the average man spends in prep for a date?

I've never bought an outfit just for a date, if that's what you're asking. Shower and basic hygiene probably cover it. I've done flowers before, but I've been told that's a bad idea, so no more dead plants. |

Sometimes it's worth it though, right? |

Perhaps I use a different approach.....
I cook better than ANY fast food place and many restaurants. It is way cheaper to prep a picnic style thing...better tasting and far more romantic. We have some really nicely done sculpture parks in our down town area. Plus there are several art galleries that don't cost a dime. They are quiet and uncrowded which allows for slow walks and easy conversation to allow me to know if I want to bother dropping alot of money on future dates. But, my favorite place to take a date is the zoo. Just take a digital camera and have fun. The ladies seem to like the change of pace as well......don't get me wrong...we WILL stop for some drinks along the way! |
