After PART ONE (http://mingle2.com/topic/show/191499) was written and put on front page of the Boston Globe, Judge, took it in her own hands to write her side of what happens and her reasoning behind it......


"All my life, I never imagined myself on the front page of The Boston Globe.

Things might have been different, but no one even offered me a seat, all the way to Braintree.

I saw my obstetrician the day before. He said I was just one centimeter dilated, no baby yet, but call when contractions start to come close.

So I dragged back out to that tiny room in the Motel 6, where the welfare people so graciously put me up, with me two bored teenagers, and the TV that never blinks, and the cube fridge and microwave, and the cans f donated food I cannot make a decent meal from.

and I waited.

It wasn't that my waters broke or the cramping started, I just woke up feeling poorly, and I knew I needed to be seen, so I got the bus in to the Red Line, and then the train all the long way into Boston, standing the whole time, for no one offered a homeless woman a seat.

When he came, he came quickly but I wasn't afraid, I knew exactly what I had to do; I have a medical background, Nurse's Aide, and I do not understand why the papers made such a deal about my not asking for help. No one even noticed me until it was almost over, and by then I would not give them the satisfaction of feeling heroic, come to my aid.

When my father was born my grandmother buried the placenta out in the yard, and planted a tree on it to grow tall and strong along with him. I have no home, no land only a healthy baby boy, and so I left his placenta and my water and our blood on the subway platform to plant a seed in the memories of you, dear Globe readers, so that next time maybe you will know your manners."
