Topic: the poor chimp that was murdered.

today i watched the video about the chimp that went on a rampage, ripping apart a woman, and trying to get into a police car after it's owner stabbed it. the police shot the chimp.... in the end.
i feel so sorry for this animal. it was raised in captivity from 3 days to age 14. the woman said it was like her son, yet she stabbed it after trying to unsucessfully hit it with a shovel to break up the attack.
it was more like her meal ticket than her son i believe. she gave it some zanax in some tea 5 minutes before the attack. the owner said the woman the chimp attacked had changed her hair, and the chimp felt threatened cause he did not recognize her.
there is something missing from this story. an animal just does not go on a rampage unless provoked or given a human drug.
what do you think?

It is a problem for chimps who change into adolescents to develop frustration, anger, and physical aggression....

This is why they cannot be kept as "pets".

I think the woman should have been shot.

it sounds like it may have reacted to the zanax
but there are animals that do 'snap'
rottweilers, dobermans and boxers are 3 dogs i would never own.
i've never heard of a monkey going ape sh1t (pun intended) but i guess it could happen.

Sounds a lot like men coming into adolescence to me, hmmmm, man and beast, and what divides us!!!

They could have used an disabling dart, would have proved successful w/o harming an endangered species.

ANY wild animal, even if " domesticated " can attack a human at any time. It doesn't necessarily mean they will, but it's not all that surprising to me when it happens.

This is something that people just don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of.

I would have to disagree about the dogs. Any creature can "snap", look at humans.

Yes, but if we allow the chimp to kill her... does this not ensure the survival of the fittest?

Obviously this woman was stupid. laugh

um well the bottom line is the chimp is dead. i saw him laying on the ground waving his hands after they shot him with the owner just standing there. it was pitiful. i hope PETA gets ahold of them big time. then, there is the woman in critical condition with her injuries.

about rotts, dobies, and boxers...why do they snap?

agreed even though humans are "domesticated", they still snap all the time. Why blame the beast??? Besides our world has invaded theirs killing them into protection from exstinction, who are actually the guilty parties in this little scenario, uhhhh, ummmm, I think that would be the homosapiens!!

Oh yeah. Cuz everyone knows that the PETA folks are the most reasonable, mentally stable folks out there. They are the ONLY ones that can handle a situation like this.

i don't think we're 'caught up' in anything. we're merely discussing a topic that came up in duffy's daily tasks of getting through this real world

How about quitting the invasion of natural resources where these animals live and have to be raised in jails, due to human consumption of all natural resources and destruction of the natural habitat homes??? Killing the earth kills us all!!! How about you wakie one day to less and less oxygen to breath because of it??? Or better yet no one wakes because of it???

i've just seen from experience and some research that these specific breeds have skull issues. their brains grow bigger than their skulls allow and it causes them to snap in and out. they don't even realize they attack.
