What?
This thread is so dead you couldn't find it even with a GPS? |

I just started last summer. My boyfriend turned me on to it. I think its great, my son goes with us and picks out a toy he finds and leaves a new one. I think it would be MORE fun to hide them and see who finds them though.

So Twin, how finds do you have????
Yes, I can see the appeal in hiding them too. I was surprised at how many there are around where I live. |

not many, just did a handfull around my town last summer. It is neat because I found a park near my town I would have never known about had i not discovered geocaching. My boyfriend has found a lot, but he lives in a much bigger town. We are planning on doing some caching when we go to mount rushmoore this summer

One of my buddies is a huge Geocache geek. I went out with him once, and was kinda bored, until I found one that he was taking forever to find. Then I thought it was pretty fun(funny)
. He blamed it on the coordinates. He was just embarassed because it was one of the only ones he couldnt find right away. Haha.

Yep. The kids and I love it. Thousands within the city, but some of the really fun ones are in campground, hiking areas, national parks, etc.

Hello,
A little on the technical side of things; in my work, I provide information to the public, and the agency I work for has a little to do with geocaching. On the forum, I cannot tell where you are from, but in Arkansas, our State Park System, and State Departments are connected to the GPS technology. If you go to your State or Federal park website near you, you can find adventures for you and friends that only cost a replacement, a note, or some other trivial requirement. This is a healthy way to find activity. It is low cost, and a good way to support tourism. Arkansas State Parks has a facebook page that is the bomb. Oh, sorry you may not even be interested in this type - heh?

Found 4 more in the last two evenings, close to home.
Went with my daughter last night, she enjoyed it too.

I had never heard of it before last weekend. The captain of our trivia team told me about it, as he does it quite regularly. I did a little research on it, and it looks kinda cool! I'm thinking about trying it myself pretty soon.

The primary site for geocaching is www.geocaching.com. You do have to register but it's free. As a free member you have access to almost everything the site has to offer.... geocache locations and descriptions and the ability to print them, searches for caches in your area, the ability to log your caches, and more.
I am a premium member which give me the ability to run queries that I can download to my blackberry, computer, or ipod. But I'm mainly a premium member to support the site since I use it quite a bit. Take a look... you'll be amazed how many caches are right under your nose. |

Not a premium member yet. They have plenty there to keep me busy.
