So far our AA group and the Girl Scouts have lived in peaceful coexistence. The Girls Scouts were a little rowdy the last time we met on the field of battle. There were more of them but we stood our ground. Now we are vying for close to the same time frame since we got the okay for a second meeting and we have upped our meetings from eight to seven in the evening. This coming Tuesday they are meeting from four till six in the evening and the church has told us that there might be a scheduling problem. After consulting with our Alanon adviser she said that the mothers of the Girl Scouts would probably rush them out of there. Some of our members have gone over to the other side and bought some of their cookies but some are donuts lovers. The church said that they will get back to us since they make weekly schedules. We paid our rent up for the next four months. We are prepared to stay and if worse comes to worse we are prepared to send in the Alanon.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. Some of our members have even infiltrated their forces and are mothers of Girl Scouts. If we have to buy more cookies we will do what we have to survive.

Had a nice talk with a representative of the Presbyterian church where we hold our meetings. He thinks the Girl Scouts and AA can coexist. He said he didn't see any problem with the idea of our new Tuesday night meeting. He even invited me to stay with the church's Easter night service. He said that they would even close the doors between the church meeting and said we could meet in the library of the church, tonight. Before he left he told me I was in charge of closing up the church after the AA meeting. I told him that seemed scary leaving me in charge but he thought I was okay to leave in charge. Chalk one up for the donuts.

We were finally given the approval for our Tuesday night meeting. The representative from the church told us that on one Tuesday nights of the month we would have to wait till a quarter to seven to go in because that way the church would stay locked and there wouldn't be any contention between AA and the Girl Scouts. He wants us to wait until the Girl scouts have cleared the building and locked it so we will use our key and they will use their key. It is a beautiful church and they are right across the street from the racetrack. I was glad that some of our members have agreed to attend and think we need the second meeting. In the group conscience meeting it was brought up that the Tuesday night meeting might weaken the Friday night meeting because there would be fewer members but it look like we are going to have enough members to be supportive of both nights. One member brought up that both meetings will have keep in sync with the seventh tradition and be self-supportive. I think that we will be be able to be self-supportive of both because membership has growned.
