QUOTE: QUOTE: Here's a question. As a huge H. P. Lovecraft fan i probably take some things too seriously and while I don't believe it I want to know if anybody else here has put some thought to The Necronomicon? The one that is regularly distributed in Barnes and Noble with the story of having been handed over by a monk to some rare books dealer is of course a fake but there has been rumor of a new document that is beginning to go into circulation that actually is written by Abdul Alhazred (the Mad Arab) called Al Azif which does outline his persuit of an arabian princess through ungodly ancient times where things he called, "Old Ones," warred with eachother in the sky and did share many of the names used in H. P. Lovecrafts stories, namely Cthulu. Personally I believe that, more likely that not, it's not a true story but probably the greatest epic ever written, but I do believe that the world is WAY WAY WAY.... older than any religion or scientific study has thought of considering. I have no evidence of it but I believe it. And I also believe that it may be likely that something far more unnerving and disturbing than a god could be waiting for us after death why would you believe anything w/o proof? humans...I'll never understand them... It's called faith, people have faith in what they believe or don't believe. it is what it is. |

What happens is what God decides, not me for sure.
I believe in heaven, and I think anyone has a chance. |

QUOTE: QUOTE: QUOTE: QUOTE: As a Christian(baptist) with slight JW influences..lol My belief is that if you dont believe Jesus died for your sins (whatever name you give the religion) you will not be in his holy presence at the end of days. I think those who do not believe do not have everlasting life and once they die they just die and remain soil for the ground. Its sort of like getting into an IVY league school. Few will make it,, even those who did 'good' through school. There has to be that exceptional factor that comes with accepting Jesus as savior. Makes perfect sense to me and well said And for those with a brain to think and an eye to see things as they are, they will not believe. And you are right. I don't understand how any adult still believes in fairy tales. Such obvious fairy tales. My post wasn't insulting, I was just stating that those that don't believe won't understand, it's a fact. I don't believe what you guys believe and I don't understand it. That's the way it works. If you took my post as insulting then that's your problem. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude
I didn't find your post insulting, per se. What I find insulting is that members, adult members of my species still believe in fairy tales. |

It's called faith, people have faith in what they believe or don't believe. it is what it is. Faith? Faith is such a horrible and evil concept. It is little more than an excuse to not think. To believe in the absence of proof. I find faith to be disgusting and revolting. More evil has been committed in the name of some faith than for any other reason. How could anyone look back at history, see all the wars and atrocities done in the name of some faith, and not be revolted by the very concept of it? Faith is the antithesis of reason. |

In my opinion, it doesn't matter, all religions myths, and if you care about this planet at all, be creamated when you die, so you don't take up alot of room.

Much respect to all,
Are are truly seeking understanding about this issue or just a skeptic or critic? Either way if you want to better understand faith in Christ and what it means to have a relationship with Him I wouldlove to have an open and honet dialouge with you on these matters. Just contact me and I will do my best to address your questions, issues and concerns with love and grace. Abda |

Abda just here for the exchange of views and ideas myself. not here to seek understanding or learning. just haven't found religion to have any answers that i consider sensical so i look elsewhere for answers. not critical but indeed i am skeptical as pertains to most things. we agnostics are the most skeptical people on the planet as i see it. having said all that, if unlike most christians who claim to "know" all about creation, the afterlife and other such supernatural phenomena and you seek understanding of things such as the beginnigs of the universe and the ascension of the species, then allow me to reciprocate your invitation to contact me and i'll likewise do my best to address your questions with equal love and grace. i've yet to have a faithful one take me up on the invitation.
