My Canon Power Shot A 60 stopped working. Nothing. New batteries, new card, nothing will help.
I read on the Internet the price can be 300.00 to fix and these camera's are now somewhat out of date. I love this camera and want to keep it but 300.00 is way too much. Any Camera experts out there? If you know anything about these camera's and how I should have it repaired let me know.

If you still have the manual that came with it there is probably something in it about sending it back to cannon for repairs at your own expense. They will check it out and send you a repair estimate, but the cost of repair may exceed the cost of buying a new better camera.

I am attached to the camera!! I was wondering do local camera repairs places tend to charge less?? I have older camera's (not digital) they all work, never need for repairs. |

Your local camera place is just probably going to send it out to somebody and then charge you extra.

I know the feeling. I have several old film cameras that I am very attached to. But some times ya just got to realize it's time to say goodbye and up-grade.

Have you looked at other, new powershots? Do that before paying $300, as you'll be able to find a new one for less than that.

I think you'll find that there are newer, better powershots out there for well under $300 .

If you're in love with the A60, I found some used ones for dirt cheap

Thank-you Sing and Hawaii, I guess I get a new (or used camera). Yes much better than a 300.00 repair, but still attached to my old camera
