Craigslist is great for buying and selling stuff. Just bought two bed frames this week.

I've used the personals, but it is a LOT of weeding and mostly crap. I did find someone to play tennis there. Have met 3 'dates' from there. 2 were disasters, 1 was actually a very nice lady.
