If you found out the person you loved was married but separated, would you break it off or keep seeing them in in the hopes that they will get a divorce?

At this point in life, experience and values say that I could not rely on someone who is seperated to be truly done with the marriage. I wouldnt carry on with someone while still legally married, although the friendship would DEFINITELY remain. We couldnt move to the next level EVER without the divorce.
