Convicted Ohio rapist Anthony Sowell arrested when 6 bodies found in his house.

 well not really, my own personal opinion is that the majority (yes generalizing) of the inmate population does not become rehabilitated, but they learn to get around the system.

again jmo Fran, I agree. Our system takes unhealthy humans and treats them like caged animals and expects them to improve during this process and lets them loose on us after. Our system is a failed one by a long shot from death penalty down to misdemeanors. |

Serial rapists, once arrest and released, are more likely to offend again and murder their victims for fear of being arrest and going to jail again.
With the women still being within the home and media coverage, I am sure FBI is profiling him to determine if he fits criteria for a serial killer. |

again jmo Yp..I agree..I think people on lock down will do whatever it takes to APPEAR normal and rehabed just long enough to get released so they can get their "fix" again. Also people like to test the system,they think "Well,I did this one little crime and got my hand slapped and sent home so now I'm gonna keep pushing to see whatelse I can do before they figure out they just need to keep me"

the studies of rapists and pedophiles, that I have seen, show they aren't able to be rehabilitated. Even with castration, that wouldn't stop them.
Most prisons are nicer to live in than the outside world. |

The law is just twisted..its just like what they do here..they have a gun show so all the bad people can go buy guns for next to nothing..then go the nxt week and have a gun buy back show..NO criminal is gonna turn in his gun..only the good people will..that just leaves the law abidding citizens unprotected!

My uncle was in the Huntsville unit here for a long time, then got moved to the Wichita Falls unit. It may be different where you are |

I agree, did we have what we needed to keep him locked up? we had the key but maybe he maxed out, played the system, got over, fooled someone, etc... excuses/reasons are a plenty. |

It may be different where you are They get free roof over their head,free food in their belly,access to libraries and weight rooms..plus they put them through free schooling to learn to defend themselves as lawyers..Hell If I wasn't scared of becoming "Big Bertha"s new woman I'd go get myself locked up..lmao. |

^actually it's probably the system that turned him into both...... nobody is born a rapist or a murderer, it's gathered along the way, and until we hold parents, society and communties accountable, we will continue seeing this trend of abnormal behavior thoughout history. It's so easy to condemn and throw stones when you don't have a clue as to why......Personally there should be no court appearences for rapists or child molestors, kill them immediately and then you don't have to worry about them ever doing it again. It's the humane thing to do. Most prisons are nicer to live in than the outside world. ^and pray tell, what prison have you been to.....

LadyOfMagic, those are things I'm referring to. Of course they don't have the freedom to go and do whatever they want..it's prison. They get basic medical care (that many on the outside do not have as well)
they have several benefits (as a gym, TV, education, etc) unless they are in solitary or lock down for their behavior. |
