Three poems that you should all read.
If you read these three poems, please feel free (and I hope you do) to post three you would like others to read. Book of Longing - Leonard Cohen Mein Kampf - David Lerner Photograph of My Father in His Twenty-Second Year - Raymond Carver I hope some folks here check them out. Anyone that reads them doesn't need to comment on how they felt about any of them. All I want is for people to read these and post three of their own, for whatever reason, and I promise to read them. So, cheers to those who do. |

Tery- You don't have to read a book. The majority of them are only poems. I know you can do that. A pretty varied collection too. Many were new to me-thanks to all for posting. |

Yes, thanks to everyone for posting.
Most of these I haven't read and I've had a lot of fun getting to read new poetry and get a small glance vicariously into the minds of poets on the site. I was wondering who would post Alone by Poe. One of my favorites. I hope people keep adding. |

wow, and I must be "alone" to think that is one of his worst works...The Raven to me is the greatest love poem ever written, few even recognize it as a love poem, but if you read it and understand his mindset, it's easy to see that the love he had was so tragic he refused to love again, thus nevermore......

Dreams In The Dusk by: Carl Sandburg To A Stranger by: Walt Whitman I love The Raven myself. We actually studied it in grade school. |
