QUOTE: I got full on into walking when I lived in Glasgow. I discovered a love for their amazing hills and views. The feeling is recreated by the hills Ive selected, here, as my home (intentional). I love walking, particularly if I feel the challenge of gravity. That way I can add sweat to my experience and think Ive done something of value to my health. The endorphins are fab, the thoughts I can think are always positive and I always feel happier when Im done. ...and yes, 5-7 days per week, and its usually about an hour and 15 but Ive recently noticed my speed is better lately. I get my best photography that way |

I admire your dedication! Unfortunately, science geeks are not all that athletic-lol! I'm trying to maintain an hour a day though doing something (walking, riding, cardio, yoga, swimming & walking the sand bar on the river) |

I can walk the dogs down the paved road, around the pasture, through the trails in the woods, or on the sand bar @ the river & they love to swim too! |

Every morning I run 5 miles along the beach, and when I get home from work I head to the gym for 2 hours. I just love to exercise because of that awesome feeling you get when you are done(:

Well for me, I go to the gym Monday to Saturday, I take part in Boxing 4 times a week, I ALWAYS walk my puppy dog, and I run 5 kms every day except Sunday. I train as hard as I do for several reasons. In the Military, certain physical standards must be met at all times, it is a very big part of my career. I will say however that I love to stay healthy! I don't think I could live without a good workout. I find the weights are great for just maintaining fitness, while my martial arts is definately great for stress relief. I was in kung fu and ju jitsu for quite a long time, but got in to boxing recently. I love the conditioning. My boxing coach is a former welter weight champion in the WBO and IBF among several other championships. His motto as well as mine is " It doesn't feel good until it hurts" lol.

well i know for a fact that golf is a very healthy way to lose wieght and whats more is that its fun.
one full game of golf is as walking for almost 5 miles with a 50 pound bag on your shoulder, and when you get to love the game as most people will-you'll be amazed at how fast the pounds will melt right off you. |

QUOTE: What do you do for exercise, how often, how intense? Do you do it for stress relief or to stay in shape (or both)? What type of work-out do you like and how intense??? Love it/Hate it? any other comments.... I work out 5 to 6 times a week. I either street cycle after my workout or I stationary cycle between 10 to 20 kilometers. I do weight training which consists of 80 lb presses, and 20 lb curls; as well as various other reps of weights to work arms and legs. I also do crunches every day. Every first day is weights; and the second is kick boxing. I also will walk to the grocery store rather than take my vehicle or cycle to work. I do it to stay in shape. I absolutely love it and I do it at 5:30 in the morning so a great way to start my day.

Like you stated in your earlier post, it feels good to take care of myself! I am so much saner & happier now Fanadtic->seriously doubt you have any blubberbutt issues (nice arms btw) but I think our bodies feel more blubbery when we are not active!
bastet->I haven't tried that type of yoga, but really love my yoga
EK->totally admire your dedication as a military man and to you puppy dog! yes the pain and soreness hurts so good! navy-> 5:30 am? Oh hell no! U go on with your bad self honey, I am still snoring at that time of day I like to exercise more in the evening and kinda blow off steam/anxiety from the day so I can sleep better.
