Is it too much to hope that there is someone out there who has any knowledge of the game?

That settles it then...
I shall just have to educate!!

Oh goody...i like Mr Ed too
Let me introduce you to the game... There are your obligatory cheerleaders with their outstanding gymnastic abilities to wow a crowd, more specifically the male gender of said crowd...but wow nonetheless!
I'm sure you'd agree with me when i say that they are exceptionally great ASSets to the game, and every team ought to have them :) |

Plus this...
Equals this...
The Rugby League player...although i've only just noticed he's wearing a Rugby Union jumper in this pic.....but who cares??!!

Todays lesson will see you being introduced to the structure of a team of RL players, which consist of 13 players on the field of play. Not including the trainer who runs out with water and profane messages from the coach, or the referee who is there to ensure the game is played fairly and evenly...although i think they have misconstrued that concept over a period of time.
As i said earlier...there are 13 players per team on the field of play which consist of the following Numbers and playing position. 1)Fullback...as the name suggests, he is the fool at the back of his frontline yelling at the rest of his team mates to move left or right to cover gaps that are left in the defensive line, lest he finds himself in the precarious situation of having to tackle should the attacking team break through the line of defense. The fullback is also utilised as a running back or a playmaker when his team is on the attack.
2)Winger...the Winger is usually the finisher in the game, capable of blinding speed, his job is to score tries and win games...which is not always the case.
Cue Cheerleader...
Usually can be seen shaking her pom poms and doing gymnastic stuffs after her team has scored a try.
