I'm just curious but are there people that scam on this site? I have some girl from across the country messaging me. I don't want to be rude to her but I'm trying to find out what her angle is.

It can happen.
You can use the 'Report' feature to notify Mingle2 of any concerns. |

Definitely a lot less than on other Sites!
This Site is well maintained. Had maybe one in the time I have been here! |

I'm sure it was leading to some sort of scam. Her profile showed some other state then she said she was currently living out of the country. She asked for my yahoo id. I just reported and blocked her.
Can anyone tell me if they've experienced this and where it leads to? What's the scam? |

I'm curious, does Mingle2 deactivate an account if there's only a single complaint of scamming / spamming against a member of this site?

One complaint or ten complaints,
they all trigger the process of looking into that person's agenda. It can happen on the first complaint, if it proves out. They are swift and diligent. Once notified. |

Thanks. I complained about a person, but I was wondering if others had similar encounters with her. Guess I'll never know.

This is still the internet even if it is Mingle. Good and bad and you have to use common sense and it really doesn't hurt a bit to follow the guidelines suggested for new members and safe use.
People who are consistently trying to get another address especially on free servers are trying to get around to something and usually it is not good. I have found that the fewer the pictures the more likely that someone is a scammer. I won't argue the merits of what makes appealing photos but if you can't get more than one photo it has probably been "lifted" or is out of date. Don't be fooled by photos of "property" because it is just as easy to "lift" real estate photos and or pose on someone's vehical. NEVER show your license plate's in photo's it is immediate access to your address as is giving someone a phone number. Useing call block is worthless to anyone who is willing to pay the minimal amount for the technology to get around it. Just because someone is not asking for a lot of money or accepting only small gifts does not mean they are harmless. There are people who make a living off of selling small gifts and tapping several hundred people for small amounts routinely. Almost any story to get a prepaid phone card or and old cell phone is going to be an inmate. Your best bet is to talk at various times and and if the person sounds too good to be true or too desperate it is probably a scam. Real people tend to talk about real things and have very ordinary lifes where they can not camp out on line 24/7. People who have big periods of time they can not account for in their history or daily life probably are not telling you something you need to know. |

I would say THE MAJORITY of the emails I get are from scammers. A good 90% or those so socially inept I can't tell them from a scammer. The majority 10% of non-scammers I get usually want hot chat, etc. or hot Skype. I have found like three genuine guys on here and I get a lot of email. Then once you whittle it down past scammers and creepy guys, I have ended up with guys I am in no way compatible with in real life.

I hope everyone encountering scammers are reporting them. The site can't take actions without knowing about them.
There are scammers everywhere on the internet. Whether it's dating sites, Facebook, where ever. But I will tell you that the admins work VERY hard at ridding this site of scammers. |

just kidding!
