Can opposites really attract? Do you think they can really have a healthy relationship?

If it is the "right" opposites.
For example: a kind person and a brutal one won't work, I don't think. Brutal as in physical beatings, etc. But an introvert and extrovert maybe would. |

QUOTE: Can opposites really attract? Do you think they can really have a healthy relationship? it depends upon how truly 'opposite' they are sometimes outsiders view people as 'opposites' because they dont outwardly have similar personalities or interests but those people may share common goals, dreams, values, that are enough to build upon,,,, on the other hand, truly OPPOSITE people, with opposite values and dreams and interests,,, are much less likely to attract each other (except maybe purely in the physical) |

I could have explained more. I was watching a show about opposites. It goes into more then just physical opposites, but more mental/emotional. How people who are mentally opposites, can still be attracted to each other.

Psychology studies say that in reality, likes attract.
I think there has to be some similarities at the very least. Otherwise, what do you talk about, appreciate about the other and/or do together that makes BOTH people happy? |

Sure. Sometimes the alternate dynamics are as exciting for people as they can be infuriating at times. Plus, it gives both parties a lot of room for new experiences and discovering new ideas and ways of thinking.

QUOTE: but is it something that would last? Something healthy? Sure, why wouldn't it be. There would be so many new experiences with everything. It would have it difficulties i am sure, but there would be so much adventure in it all. Or maybe that is me thinking ideally. I just feel if two people want it bad enough, they will make it work. |

QUOTE: Can opposites really attract? Do you think they can really have a healthy relationship? Depends, sometimes it's the opposition that keeps them together, other times, it's what tears them apart. Every one and every relationship is different. |

I'm more of an introvert. I'm attracted to extroverts, but things never seem to work out, seems to be an incompatible difference. |

So it really is irrelevant then,if people are opposites or not?

It depends on the relationship as to whether it's irrelevant or not.

I guess. I think it depends on how well you communicate with each other. *shrug*

QUOTE: Can opposites really attract? Do you think they can really have a healthy relationship? It may appear that two people are "opposite" but like always attracts like. When you are attracted to someone who seems to be "opposite" it is because they possess a quality or energy that you need and visa versa. You get together and learn from each other and it helps in your personal growth. If you get all of what you need from that person, then you will usually part ways (unless you are truly compatible) because your personal growth stops. Will it last? Not if you are truly opposite. Like attracts like.
