What attributes does a person need to be your friend? What puts you off people as a 'potential friend' Do you ditch a friend when they are a negative influence in your life or do you surrender for 'peace.'

Him buying drinks for me and my dog would be a good start.

I don't have a check list for what makes a good friend.

If they're being a negative influence on my life, they're not really friends, are they?

I don't know. I once had very good friend who was a negative influence as far as they were always down and brought me down with them.But as far as being a good and trusted friend ahe was the best.Always had my back, was a great confident and if I ever needed her she was right there.
So I guess it boils down to what exactly the negative influence is.

All my friends are different from me. I have no expectations of any of them. Now with a GF that is a whole different ball of wax.

In the simplest terms this wolf needs a girl wolf so we get along. Sheep girls don't do it for me.

I mean if I could pin any one thing down that bothers me most about women and what attracts me to a very scant few is this, MOST WOMEN WILL NOT SPEAK THEIR MINDS AND THE ONES THAT DO HALF THE TIME COME OFF AS (Female dog adjective). A woman that can speak her mind and not come off as dog like wins the gold in my world any day! You see there is a difference between a female wolf and a female dog. Female wolves make less noise and bite harder!


And that is what floats my boat ladies and gentlemen!

Too bad I don't have a GF right now. it isn't for the lack of trying!

I am sure there is a lady out there who you will meet some day. Just be patient :-)

having a friend that you have known for 30yrs
and thought you could actually trust her

turned out to be wrong

asking is fine but taking
is another story

i let her stay here for a brief

and she finally moved into
her own place
she had ask me if she could wash her clothes
which she knew i wasent going to be home

i had a package of mini thin bages
i was going to give to my daughter
she tok part of them
without asking
but she admited when i ask

and just the day before
i gave her a foodbox to help her out
i told her that if i was going to give you any i would had in the foodbox.

then i noticed almost all my wash clothes
came up missing along with a few towels and sheets

again she didnt ask

she came by today for a very brief moment
and i question her on the washclothes

she of course denied takeing them

but who else would had...

i didnt want to argue with her and she didnt either
she gave me the key back and left..

i knew she was frustrated but thats her own fault.

next time she gets herself in a bind im not helping her

Everyone is cool when things are going good....but, when the chips are down and things get tough...then, you know who cares. There are alot of cool people around...not everyone is a friend. A real friend sticks with you.

If I am going through a rough patch, my best friend doesnt know what to say, but the fact that he is always there for me speaks louder than words :-)

I've always been pretty selective of who I consider a friend, because I consider my friends part of my family, and the relationship is not taken lightly. If one is able to achieve friendship status with me, there is no need for me to separate from them, they will not be a negative influence in my life.
