Lol, this is my amusing daughter's request...would you allow it? Her defense is so many of her friends have their tongue pierced.

No, I know what a tongue piercing is for. No way.

My daughter has been asking for the same thing...and a nose ring, and her eyebrow pierced. I wouldn't let mine get anything pierced but her ears.

tongue piercings seriously affect the speech, enunciation of words goes out the window. sounds like baby talk jibberish in the beginning. |

QUOTE: QUOTE: No, I know what a tongue piercing is for. No way. I didn't mean it like that. I meant I wouldn't let my child get that kind of piercing because of that. It's like with the skimpy clothes, just because one wears them doesn't mean that they're wearing to advertise, but that's what some people would think. I wouldn't want anyone getting those kind of thoughts about my children, not even other children. |

The tongue jewelry also chips teeth. Are you ready for dental bills?

Told my son, not while he lived under my roof & I was responsible for him. After he was in navy, got tounge, nipples & foreskin done. 2 years later all were out & he wondered "WHY he wasted the money??" Now I would say same thing as then & son has already told his son's; "NOT under his roof."

My son brought that issue up when he was in high school...
This is what I told him.....I dare you to get it done....you have to sleep and I will pull it out... Told him till he was 18 and I had his Diploma in my hand. Then and only then he could pierce his tongue and get the tattoos he wanted. That is as long as he had a job to pay for it.. What happened was his cousin did pierce his. It got infected they thought he had TB at first due to loosing weight and some problems... Doctor made him take the piercing out of his tongue. He was on heavy antibiotics for awhile. Once that happened funny my son did not want to pierce his tongue... |

Totage, thank you for clarifying your post. You are right and I never thought of that. I dont think teenage boys think like that, but who knows? A creepy male teacher has already stepped over the line with her, by flirting with her. She was shocked.

Heck I did not know it for a long time cause she does not play with hers....Ohh and several others my kids were around none of them had any of those issues... Well except when they first had it done and their tongue was swelled up like a balloon lmao .... So I would say all of the above is false... |
