First person picks a pair of movies/books/etc. Next poster picks the one they like more. Then, they post a pair of their own for the following poster...The only rule....please keep it sci fi or sci fi/horror.
First Pair 1) The Illustrated Man 2) Fairenheit 451 |

Just want to note that I hate the conflation of scifi with horror, as they really aren't the same thing. That said...
Fahrenheit 451. My turn: 1. Stargate SG-1 2. Stargate Atlantis |

I just figured it would end up here at some point anyway, soooooo..... Stargate Atlantis next: 1)Crack in the World 2)The Day the Earth Stood Still (original) |

Day the Earth stood still (original version)
Blade Runner Total Recall (original version) |

Blade Runner
1. Planet Of The Apes (1968) 2. Forbidden Planet |

Give me a couple a three ice cold bottles of LaBatts blue and
"Forbidden Planet" any time. Plan nine from outer space or Star Wars |
Star Wars, but only the original three movies -- and preferably, the first one.
1. "A Fire Upon The Deep" by Vernor Vinge 2. "Earth" by David Brin |

*bump*

Earth by David Brin
Ringworld or The Ringworld Engineers by Larry Niven |
Oh, jeez... do I have to choose? I like 'em both.
How about this Star Wars-related question: Which would you rather have, and why? 1. Bantha 2. Tauntaun |
Tauntaun- I like being in the snow, more than the desert.
Robby The Robot (Forbidden Planet, The Invisible Boy) or Robot from Lost In Space |
Robby (He actually starred in several shows including "Lost in Space" (trick trivia)
The Stainless Steel Rat or Deathworld RIP Harry Harrison |
I love The Stainless Steel Rat.
Dark City or 12 Monkeys |
I did not see either so I cannot choose.
so Lord of the Rings - the books or Lord of the Rings - the movies |
The books(but I love the movies)
Who shot first? Han Solo or Greedo |
I love The Stainless Steel Rat. Dark City or 12 Monkeys Two excellent choices. Dark City for originality and special effects but 12 Monkeys for the single best performance of Brad Pitt and brilliance by Terry Gilliam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioBueVTZ0RM |

The books(but I love the movies) Who shot first? Han Solo or Greedo The new version of the shootout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2i0nvnErFU |

I guess the GLA (Galactic Laser Association) isn't offering refresher courses for professional minions anymore?
Getting the game back in gear: Farscape OR Babylon 5? |

Getting the game back in gear: Farscape OR Babylon 5? Wow! What a hard choice. Babylon 5 was one of the best written sci-fi series ever. Farscape was funny beyond belief and exhibited excellent satire of a number of current events. Not all Farscape episodes were great but some were brilliant and the overall show was a classic. I have copies of both. |
