Simply looking for a nice, normal guy who believes in the white-picket-fence way of life; a smart guy whose ultimate goal is a great long-term relationship, but understands the difference between a partnership and co-dependence. I've become pretty skeptical of these sites since people never really seem to be interested in what they say they're seeking. Personally, I prefer gay plus dot and com. At least they let you sign up, e-mail and even chat live for free (although this site seems to have a live chat feature). Most people there know me as canyonguy, but I'm sure a few have found less neutral epithets. Anyway, I do think getting to know someone takes a little more than exchanging a few e-mails and chatting online. I love visiting foreign countries, finding a great bargain on an 18th-century antique, European history, spending the day wandering around La Jolla, spending at last a month of down time every summer on a wonderful island on the east coast, and all the "Harry Potter" and Michael Crichton books.

I live in L.A., but have a great house near the beach on the east coast. I don't get there nearly enough, but that makes every trip that much more special. Hoping to find someone who, like me, is driven and reasonably successful, but looks forward to coming home to someone special and a great dog (that actually means dog as in canine; it's not one of those gay code words) at the end of the day.
