About allenh
I have few boundaries when it comes to humor. One of my favorite comedians at the moment is Doug Stanhope. Take a listen to his material. If you are offended, disgusted, turned off, frightened, feel dirty, can't make it through a bit, etc you probably don't want to speak to me. If your idea of good comedy is Dane Cook I please ask that you don't speak to me.
I can be very opinionated on certain subjects, and am very open and blunt about my opinions, but I do not judge others that have differing opinions. I don't really care how others live their life as long as it doesn't affect mine. I enjoy hearing other people's opinions in an unfiltered, nonsugarcoated fashion. It is not necessarily important that you agree with me on my opinions, only that you are respectful when they differ.
I am a very independent person. I enjoy the presence of people who are passionate about what they are doing and who are also very independent. I have a high respect for those in medical, law, and classical arts (symphony performers, ballet dancers, etc). I am not exactly sure why this is, but I will take the safe route and blame the media.
Most people do not know what I do for a living, even those who are close to me. Not because I am secretive, but because you can't define it with one word. I suppose the best way to describe it would be "Entrepreneur", but that can mean a thousands things to a thousand different people.
I dabble in many fields. Design, Marketing, IT, Print, Web, Video, Music, Media. I own a couple of companies. I enjoy business development and helping others develop their businesses. I am in pursuit of success. Some would say I am already successful, but can you ever have enough?
Books) I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell by Tucker Max, The Alphabet of Manliness by Maddox.
Movies) Fight Club, The Negotiator, The General's Daughter, The Rules of Engagement, Dead Man on Campus, Office Space, The Way of the Gun, The Cell, Se7en, The Boiler Room, Rounders, Half Baked, The Game, Rules of Attraction, Pulp Fiction, Requiem For a Dream, Thank You For Smoking, Gataca, V for Vendetta, Super Troopers, What The (bleep)?!, Derailed, Great Expectations, Jar Head, Three Kings, Crash.
Music) Imogen Heap, Frou Frou, Sneaker Pimps, and Everything But The Girl are heavy on rotation at the moment. Duncan Sheik is also an all time favorite. I have a wide range of musical taste. The only genres that I typically don't listen to are country (particularly with male vocalists) and death/metal/scream-o. I also appreciate almost nothing from the 80's. I hate terrestrial radio. Pandora.com is awesome.
Foods) Teriyaki Chicken Burger at Red Robin and Chicken Scampi at Olive Garden. I am also very fond of Porters, especially Black Butte. Most people think it tastes like an ashtray. My beer does not get stolen. This makes me happy. I also enjoy Jameson on the rocks.
BONUS!! TV) The Wire, Entourage (Pretty much exclusively for Jeremey Piven's character 'Ari Gold'), House MD, Law & Order: SVU, Family Guy, The Colbert Report, The Office. I have just discovered a fabulous new program called King of Miami on the Mojo HD channel. You can check out the entire first episode here http://mojohd.com/video/. Be sure to watch the music video as well.
