Would like to get together with someone that doesn't love 34 activities before breakfast and 43 more before dinner. A cliche free profile will catch my interest. I enjoy mainstream and post-bop jazz, pettin' boxer puppies, crossword puzzles, drives thru Idahos mountain areas and all this before lunch!! I would probably be in the intellectual catagory but I didn't graguate frome Nerd U. Good sense of humor, dry, sarcastic at time, goofy. I have a bit of a gift for writing; poetry, biting critiques on people, places, and things. Love to talk and write about philosophic and spiritual observations, you know, stuff that puts a glazed look on most ladies eyes. Of course, of more importance, is relationship issues which women by nature are more intuitive and gifted at, yet that puts a glazed look in our eyes. No wonder we can't get along. It's almost like we're from different planets. Maybe I should write(too late)Mars,Venus,Yuranus..........Just lookin' for a friend right now thats weight/height proportional, cooks like Aunt Jemima, and looks like Bo Derrick, nothin special LOL.The following is an example of my writing about how the hard things in my life has produced softness....."There is a softness and gentle empathy that emanates from people who have been traumatized and crushed by life and love, yet refuse to give into bitterness. They always have time for you, listening with genuine interest as you share your thoughts and points of view. You'll tend to think you're accomodating them, when it's actually they that are loving you. You often feel at peace when you are with them . Get close enough, and at times, you can pick up the aroma of a larger Presence. Perhaps a quote from an old dusty book is true "God is close to the broken hearted". I think we know instinctively that an eternal rest area is still available no matter which road we've chosen and perhaps you've known a few people (you may be one of them) who have done a U-turn; but unfortunately, for many, the fast lane beckons and the antiquated promises of peace, joy, and unconditional love become shrinking images in the rear view mirror. Going back seems absurd. Right destinations, though, can never be reached no matter how much you increase your speed if a wrong turn was taken earlier......
I prefer to surround myself with those who have been through a lot and have let it move them from the passing lane of movers and shakers to the gently curving offramp, where 'making good time' becomes making time good.....Hope to hear from ya......Mark
