I am independent, love accents, enjoy other cultures, am very diverse. Sometimes I get too involved in work. I love my family too but I am looking for the special someone to complete me. You are also independent, intelligent, maybe a little bossy but still respectful. We both enjoy working and want to continue to build a great future. Oh yes, if you go out with me, you have to accept some family time too. Just goes with the territory of having kids at home.

I enjoy traveling, whether that means hopping on a plane and going to Mexico or New York or Canada. I also love road trips. There is always a blanket and water and usually some snacks in my van for impromptu picnics. I grew up very spoiled thinking that everyone went to the beach once a month. I love the beach, but not the "normal" laying out. More into kayaking, fishing, netting, boating, or reading on the shore, while you do all you want of that too. So more of the Bogue Sound activities instead of the Atlantic Ocean activities. Meanwhile, the mountains call out to me too. I adore white water rafting, BUT I like having the guide onboard. You can do the duckies if you prefer while I paddle when the guide says forward or backward. I can sleep in my camper or a tent or rent a cabin. Very versatile about that. I do love to camp though. Prefer that at the mountains over a hotel anyday.
Intellect is very important to me. I am currently contemplating going back for my PhD, mostly just because I want to. I have been tied down with family obligations for several years, so I feel like it is now or never for some things. I love a good - give and take conversation, a verbal spar occasionally.
I co-own a family company that is involved in various businesses. If you know anything about family businesses, you know that means that you are always "on". It can be 24/7 and sometimes it is hard to leave it at the office. There are rewards though too!

If you read this far, then you know that I write books. LOL. It is true. And I do think the perfect "first" date, in the situation especially with it being a "blind" date, is indeed over a cup of coffee. The reason being, if you just don't like that person across the table from you, then just go ahead and scorch your tongue and get that coffee on down, so that you can politely leave. Or if things look promising, :)) then you can linger for an hour or more over that coffee, top it off, add whipped cream (now I meant to the coffee). lol.

I have respect for religions different than mine. I think that the President of the U.S. has the toughest job in the world, so I am not going to criticize him. I lean to the liberal side but I am not fanatical at all.

I am always, always in control. So my idea of a perfect evening out is so different than what most people dream of. I have been told many times that I should write a book. I have lived life, enjoyed it to the fullest, maybe fuller than I should have at times. I am open to experiencing life and love and friendship.
