"Whatever we learn to do, we learn by actually doing it: Men come to be builders, for instance, by building, and harp players by playing the harp. In the same way, by doing just acts, we come to be just; by doing self-controlled acts, we come to be self-controlled; and by doing brave acts, we become brave". -Aristotle
I’ve learned to try to find joy and pleasure in everyday life. One can find peace and happiness in something as simple as an afternoon working in the garden. The thought of nurturing something into fruition is exciting and awe-inspiring. I find fascination in what some people consider mundane. Trees for example. I love to photograph trees and other natural subjects. There is a beauty and personality in everything around us, it just sometimes takes time to find. “Nature’s Imagination is so much greater than man’s. She’s never going to let us relax”. –Richard Feynman
I have a spiritual side but I’m not comfortable with organized religion.
What I look for in a partner:
Intelligence is by far the most interesting and appreciable quality someone can offer, aside from the obvious (loyalty, honesty, etc.). An innate sense of wonder and desire to learn and explore are also important as I am insatiably curious about everything. Also, an appreciation and respect for the environment and all forms of life, whether human, animal or vegetal goes a long way with me.
Currently reading:
"A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles ****ens. (Ok, they're seriously going to sensor someone's NAME?! Give me a break....)
"The Craft of Research" By Wayne C. Booth, Gregory G. Colomb and Joseph M. Williams
"Uncle Tom's Cabin" By Harriet Beecher Stowe
