Until recently I was an anthropology professor, but now I am a full-time writer (mostly books). In my spare time I volunteer teach martial arts to older/disabled/homeless students and do animal rescue and foster. I try to live conscientiously while being happy -- you can't save the world, but you can continue to do the right thing! ;-) I love nature, working out, learning new things, bad scifi movies from the 50s, snauggling on cold, stormy nights, and investing in a welcoming and comforting home. I am not terribly social, more of a home body, although I have travelled the world and hope to continue.

I have a ten year old son that my ex-partner share responsibility for. We have a good working relationship around our son, but it is truly over, so no surprises in store there. I am loyal, honest, value family and commitment, and I am close to my family of origin -- virtually baggage free despite a life that has been difficult at times. ;-)
