About Doctor_G
Who am I?
-------------
I'm a quick witted and lively, young minded thirty-something. Who's decided to up sticks and move to America from England for a bit of adventure.
I enjoy socialising with friends. I'm seriously not into clubs, but love being out and about on the town. There's nothing better than going to see a bit of fringe theatre, or soak up some art at one of the museums before heading down the pub to pick over the cultural experience. But it doesn't have to be highbrow--I like catching the latest Bond movie at the cinema as much as the next man.
At work I'm what a tabloid newspaper would call "a top boffin". It sounds a bit boastful to say that, but I had to work damn hard to get there, so why not brag a bit? The reality is that I spend all day sat in slightly run down office at a university. Worse still is that I'm in front of a computer for hours on end. But I'd be lying if I said anything other than that than I love my work.
Oh, and my big passion is music. Nearly forgot that.
Happiness is a great band playing an intimate gig. My life's pretty much dominated by music. I can find a Morrissey quote for any situation. It's hard to say what I'm into: one day it'll be Bob Dylan, the next Editors. There are even a few odd bits of electro I copied of my brother in the CD pile, and I love them even if I couldn't tell you who they're by.
Reasons To Be Cheerful
------------------------------
* Using my head
* Keeping in shape
* Fringe theatre
* Exploring America
* The Smiths
* Good food (veggie of course)
* Intelligent conversation
* Loud guitars
* Travelling to foreign lands
* Going down the pub
* BBC Radio 4
* Being with friends
* The Glastonbury festival
