I'm 53 years young and can just barely remember this dating stuff from years long ago and I imagine it still sucks (lol).I was in a relationship with one woman for 35 years. As far as what I am looking for it is to be in another long term relationship leading hopefully to being married again. I do believe that if there will be an attraction between two people, it will happen no matter what the differences or similarities are and it will just happen. It can't be forced. Also, I believe that the old adage that opposites attract is 100% correct, but should be modified slightly to read that opposites compliment one another. Find some common ground and build from there. I don't want to date
myself...lol.

I love to laugh but love to make others laugh more. I am reserved until I get to know someone but after
that, watch out.

I know who I am, I am very self confident, secure and do not need to get my strength or approval from others
but I can help those that may need this from me.

I can be as comfortable in jeans as in a Tux.

I like to hang out in my hot tub under the stars to forget about the problems of the world and to do that with that special someone would be awesome.

I like live rock music and have seen AC/DC, Nickleback, Metallica and KISS in the past year.

My favorite get away place would by the island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean. I love going there whether by cruise ship or to just fly down and spend a week. Nice beaches and the best bar in the world at the end of the airport runway.

If I watch TV, it is usually to listen to a satellite music channel but if I do watch something, it will usually
be a science or history type program. I'm not boring, I just can't find anything worth watching right now.

As far as movies go, I like comedy, action/adventure, scary, sci fi and some romantic comedies of which "6 days 7 nights" is my all time favorite.

When I read, it is more likely to be a nonfiction book over a fiction book, newspaper or trade publication.

My perfect first date: I don't know if I would call our first outing a first date. When we meet for the first time, it should be at a comfortable location for both of us, probably a restaurant and dress in a very casual manner (probably jeans). We need to be relaxed at this first meeting to have things go smoothly. The second time we go out would probably be when the "first date" phase would occur and at that time we would hopefully discuss a venue to attend that we both feel will enhance our relationship.

My ideal relationship: After being married for 35 years in a relationship where we basically did everything together for most of those years, I would say that this was the ultimate. We didn't need anyone else to derive our joy, pleasure, happiness, etc from. We totally enjoyed each others company
together completely, nothing else was required. We trusted each other fully, we confided in each other on anything and basically just lived and breathed being together. To attain this same level of love, devotion, commitment, etc. would be awesome.

What I learned from my past
relationship: I have only had one relationship to draw from but I would say the biggest thing I learned is when you feel that things are not going right, don't listen to the words that are being spoken but go by the actions that you observe from your partner and then act accordingly. The old adage that actions speak louder than words is 100% correct.

Oh yeah, if you send a wink/flirt etc to me and I am interested in you, I will send you an email to "break the ice". If you don't respond back, there will not be another email from me. Life is too short and I am not going to wait to find out how many emails I have to send you before you will respond.
