I am not without fault but I have a big heart and feel I have lots to share with the right woman. I'm a retired NYC math teacher. I loved teaching and do miss the kids a lot, but I don't miss the routine that began at 6 AM every day. I've never been an early morning person and when I taught I was always sleep deprived. Now I usually awake around 9:30 - 10 and am well rested. I have many interests which include travel ( I've been to every state in the US. Alaska and Hawaii are my favorites ), movies ( dramas, tearjerkers, romantic comedies, indie , and definitely NOT those with a lot of violence ), Scrabble ( I play in tournaments all across the country ),working out ( mostly weights and the treadmill ), sports fan ( all the NY teams ), concerts, comedy clubs, and all kinds of ethnic restaurants. I like dancing to a good beat, biking around the city, or in the country, whitewater rafting (My favorite was the Rogue River in Oregon- beautiful pristine wilderness),and hiking ( In Nov. '02 I hiked to the floor of Grand Canyon ). Of course this is all best when shared with someone special. I consider my self a very good communicator of my thoughts and feelings. I'm well liked and very considerate of others. Affection is important and I love holding hands. Sensitive, passionate, good sense of humor and adventure,the ability to be spontaneous, down to earth, easygoing, and unpretentious all describe me well. I'm seeking a relationship based on equality, communication, sharing, and compromise, being each others anchor but allowing space at the same time. I am a Manhatanite with a car so the outer boroughs, New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester are easily accessible. If after a conversation we decideto meet I'm happy to come to "your neck of the woods"

I am looking for a woman who is bright,kind, sensitive, a good communicator and keeps herself in good shape. She prefers jeans to "dressing up" and is comfortable with a minimum of makeup. It would be nice if she liked traveling and had the time to do so. As you can see I've never been married but I have been in a few long term relationships. I'm happiest when coupled and in love with someone special. I'm not afraid of a committed relationship, it is what I'm seeking. Hopefully, honesty, sensitivity, good communication, sharing on all levels, and a giving nature are what is most important to you as it is to me.
