Interests: Is the cup half full or half empty?
The last time I really dated, there was no internet. So, researching this internet dating thing, I discovered more than 80% of the people lie/fib in their profiles. I decided I will not write anything about myself, therefore, I cannot be a caught in a lie and be a part of that 80+% - lol. Instead, I wrote something about how I am approaching this new phase of my life.
To answer the question, is the cup half full or half empty? Neither, the cup finds its value when entirely empty. As told in an ancient Chinese parable in which a sage while training his student, the student believing he has discovered all that there is to know, pours the student a cup of hot tea and the cup of tea overflows; this causes the student to jump back avoiding from being scalded. The student demands to know "How can such a great master spill tea like that?" The master responds "If you wish to sample my tea, you must first empty your cup." Metaphorically, the cup finds its usefulness when empty, implying that with each stage we are blank canvasses and can reform ourselves.
I now find myself at this juncture and am commencing into the next stage of my life with an empty cup and open to new opportunities. I will be filling my cup of tea to the brim with the sweetest and most aromatic tea, one in which I brew myself.
