I was born in Germany, studied, worked and completed my PhD there. Then i moved to Brisbane in Australia to work there for 3 years to experience something new, learn something new at work and meet other people. Right now i am about to move to Calgary in canada to start my new job there. Will be a dramatic change to move from warm australia to cold canada but i am looking forward to it.
I am working in a research position and really like my work - although it really eats up most of my free time. My colleagues are really nice and its a pleasure to work with them but not that i have settled down a bit i want to make some friends and contacts outside the university. Normally it takes some time for me to get warm with somebody, sometimes it happens instantly. Friends are very important for me - therefore i am a bit sad that i left all of them in germany. But I try to keep in touch with them as good as possible.
I would describe myself as independant, attractive, romantic, faithful, reliable, curious, mature and not complicated. And no: chivalary is not dead!
My philosophy of life is faber est suae quisque fortunae! (Every man is the artisan of his own fortune). Not because i want to be perfectly independent from everybody else (no one is nor will ever be!) but because the main source of contentedness lies in ourself.

I love music and hear alot - partly rather unknown stuff. Sometimes i like soft calm music, sometimes something with more rhythm. I dont have any specific interest but avoid Techno and very hard stuff - for example i like the bealtes, classic, ramstein, neofolk, Deine Lakaien, Nightwish, Genisis...

movies with much content and good actors, like historical movies (North And South, Gettysburg), dramas (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest), well made anti-war movies (Das Boot, all quiet on the western front), and other movies (like HenryV Shakespeare, The Ring, Apollo 13, Sleepy Hollow)

Lots of things interest me - mainly if i can meet people there, which i really like cause everybody has an interesting story to tell. I am interested in Paintball, role-playing, voluntary community service (no, not church or something like that), nature, computer and 1000 other little things

i am looking for a long term relationship with someone who values the same things as me. Its very important that both sides can rely on each other blindly. But its really hard to describe my ideal partner. I like long dark hair. And you should be able to show your affection in public.
