Hmmmmm....well I'm not really into the single bar scene anymore so I thought I'd give this a try. I actually think it is a great way to get to know someone. No loud music, no alcohol, and none of the other distractions.
I'm a 41 year-old single and I live at home with my 70 year-old father. We owned a restaurant for 8 years and the franchise went bankrupt leaving us on our own. I worked 7 days a week and took little money out of the business to keep it afloat until our lease ran out. During this time I lived on my credit cards and built up about $10,000 debt. I'm happy to say that I finally paid it all off. However, it helps me out to live with my dad right now so I can save up for a house/condo. He's a great guy anyway and has been a widow for almost 20 years now so it's a good arrangement for us both right now.
This doesn't mean I'm flat broke and expect a woman to take care of me. I have a great job now and make good money and I love to go out and do fun things.
I can understand if this bothers some people so that's why I put it out there right away. I have been staying away from the dating scene because of this but my female friends keep telling me that somebody would be very lucky to have a relationship with me. So here I am giving this a shot.
I have never been married and don't have any children. I love kids though so I don't mind if you have any. I grew up in Wisconsin and have been here since shortly after college when my mom was diagnosed with cancer and given 2 months to live. I came out here to be with her during those final months and never went back. I love San Diego and am glad I stayed.
I feel very lucky that I was given advance notice of my mom's death so that I was able to spend lots of quality time with her before she passed. She not only taught me how to live, but she also taught me how to die. She was so brave and courageous in her battle. She is my hero and I try to live my life in a way that will make her proud.
I don't ask for much except that someone is honest, loyal, caring, and respectful. Most everything else in negotiable but you must have those traits. I believe in a monogamous relationship and I don't "serial" date, meaning I'll only work on one relationship at a time. I won't pencil you in on Friday night and then someone else on Saturday night.
Anyway, if the ad hasn't scared you off so far, please drop me a note and I'll be happy to tell you more. Thanks for reading and good luck in your search.
