I am about to be single after a 15+ year relationship, (what's worse is that she did it by TEXT message, the week of what would have been our anniversary). Fortunately, we had no children; we both felt it was important to wait until we were not carrying a lot of debt. Since I have no kids, I would prefer the same. While I am not looking for another relationship at this time, if it happens, it happens. Nor am I opposed to a FWB situation, neither. I’d be lying if I had said I don’t miss the occasional good old fashioned roll in the hay… Since I am relatively new to the area; I also need to build a new network of friends my age to chat (IM or phone), email, or just simply hang out with, as I conduct an aggressive job search.

I am into swimming (I used to compete, so I was excited to watch the amazing feats at the Water Cube in Beijing recently), and I am itching to get back into it after more than 20 years; cycling (for commuting and fitness); general fitness (although I fell off that wagon some time ago and not sure why; so I do not have a gym membership at this time); and motorcycle touring (although my last motorcycle died on me and it was going to cost too much to fix, so I do not have anything to ride right now; but as soon as my finances are in order, I will be looking for an opportunity to purchase a well taken care of GL1500 or GL1800 Gold Wing). I am also into community service, and try to do what I can to leave this place better than I found it. I have been involved in SEVERAL community service projects in the past (Leukemia Society, March of Dimes, Children's Hospital of Orange County, and Fallen Heroes just to name a few off the top of my head that I have worked with)... Now; I am a long time supporter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States, and am on the planning committee for the Sacramento Area Ride for Kids event. Ride for Kids is the primary source of funding for the Foundation.

I am also into movies and TV (although I do not go out of my way for TV these days; with the exception being the Olympic Games).... I like my DVR for when I cannot sleep.... Movies I enjoy typically have some basis in truth; but I can enjoy an action flick as well.

Since that part of my life has been missing for some time, I would prefer someone of the Jewish faith.... I mean no disrespect; but I want to reconnect with that part of who I am..... I hope that this statement does not offend anyone, because that is not my intent. I am the first to say that I respect other's beliefs; I can only hope to get the same in return.

I would consider joining a local bicycle club; just to get out some more....

2) If you are into cycling, live nearby and want to take a ride, let me know (if it isn't going to be too hot); hopefully you will be afiliated with a club???

4) If you need a workout partner and your gym is offering new members a great discount (24hr fitness offered a 1 year prepaid all club membership for $200, but they are not currently offering it; I am looking for something similar), or your gym can allow you to have a regular guest; let me know....
