Hi, I'm a single bi-ped who enjoys things that give me pleasure and being happy. Sorry about that. I've seen so many ads that say "I like to have fun" and so forth that it just got to me.

Most people see me as intelligent (I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science), funny and goofy by turns. I find humor in the absurd, whether this is intentional absurdity or not. What with the world as it is, this means that I find humor just about everywhere, and when that fails, I make my own absurdity. Also, that is NOT a silly hat on my head in the 3rd picture, it's a real live kitten. It was just too cute to resist (and the kitten didn't seem to mind).

Outdoors, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and skiing by season. Indoors, I like to go to new restaurants, watch movies (big movies in a big theater, indie flicks in the art house, or watching a DVD sitting on the couch), play board games, and fence (with swords). When any of these things can be done in a place that I've never been, all the better.

I have been told that I'm a great listener, and I believe that communication is the foundation of any relationship. I'm looking for someone who will laugh with me when I need to be laughed with, laugh at me when I need to be laughed at, and smile condescendingly at me when that's what I need (and know which is which). And of course, someone who expects the same in return, someone who is always thinking, and wondering, and learning.
