Kind of new to the whole online dating business. Hoping to find people in my area, i.e. The Woodland, TX. To tell you the truth I find it a bit hard to believe that if I specify my area in the search criteria it will return 100s ? or even 1000s of hits and this for towns that only have a population of maybe 5 0r 10 thousand people. Honestly I’m pretty skeptical about the whole online match making thing. Frankly it’s basically the world’s oldest scam / business. Conjures up memories of the 936 phone sex numbers. I used to drive a cab in Houston and I’m well aware that there’s a whole industry built entirely around lonely men. A great deal of a cabs business is to and from the strip clubs and bars. Honestly you can save yourself a lot of time and frustration by just handing out money to random people on street corners.
After looking over some of these singles / dating sites they really, really smell of the old phone sex businesses. So I guess what I’m wondering is; are these sites legit or are they in fact just a digital version of the old sex tease for money scams of yester-year?
