What am I doing here?
I find there is a number of forum entities that are valuable to me in different ways. They are real people and offer up a wide range of interests and ideas. Some might be perfect matches for me except for distance or age. I value their views and opinions.

I mean its great talkin in the forums an all but once I have someone real to be with and no longer searching, I'll be gone.
There's just no reason to be on a dating site when you're no longer looking. How would that be fair to her?

There's plenty of other type forums available on nearly any interest or subject. Right now, I'm a member at around 30 different sites and only 4 or 5 are dating related.

If I become good friends with anyone and find someone, I'll invite them to personal email, messaging or skype. Chances are we would have enough in common we could still find talk at a non-dating forum.

I stopped using one dating site already, the friends I made there became friends at other type forums too. We still talk, but not at that site.
