These are so absolutely fantastic to watch! The places they traveled through, the difficulties they encountered, and the beautiful people everywhere.
Especially in Mongolia where one of the bikes had serious trouble and even Charley couldn't get it to work. Mongolians turn up -in the middle of nowhere- and they know how to fix a bike???? I mean, wot?! Most don't have a car or bike, use horses as there's only some 150 km of tarmac in the whole of Mongolia. Yet they know how to fix bikes, and they did it too.
The Russians, equally friendly, one truckdriver spending like forever to help them with 3 bikes and 2 cars over lord knows how many impenetrable rivers while he could've easily steamed on by himself.
Even I as a viewer experience a massive anti-climax when they reach Alaska, western civilisation.

But what a ride, twice, once around the world, once from the tip of SCotland to the southern tip of Africa.
Second time I've seen them, so very impressive! Although I do feel it was a shame they rushed through Africa. And I for one would've wanted to see lions tongue2 I would've insisted on that.

Anyone else loved these trips?

The Russians/Siberians and Chinese are some of the most accommodating people I have ever met. most are honest to a fault, and will, like she said, spend hours to help you if you have an issue.

I just found out they're doing another one, which I think should be done by now: The Long Way Up.
From southern point of south America to LA. That would be great, probably loads of more nice people and great landscapes and cultures.
