yes, true...but some religions don't believe in a "heaven" just an extension of life in another form...so they may not want to become a bird or goat yet LOL :)

Even religions (the people who follow them) who believe in an extension of life after death rather than heaven have killed. Look at Buddhist monk warriors.

Any belief system - which can be religious, but can also be a cultural philosophy, political movement, racial, sexual, national, territorial group, can, and has, used their ideas to get people to hate or target another group as bad or evil. Yet some ideas from these same belief systems has also been used with 'good' intentions.

This makes questions, like the one this thread asked, meaningless, as if there were not terrible humans behaviour before Judaism, or as if it and the religions that stem from it, are the root cause of what is wrong in the world today. Crazy and nave.

The question could be - Why do humans use so many DIFFRENT ways to hurt/disempower/de-humanise and fear other groups of people based on their beliefs and ideas?

"Humans" (actually the male species) want to feel powerful and they can only do this by making others feel weak. Men are just very insecure with fragile egos.

I do not know how you can just blame men. Look at the amount of women in positions of power now, AND in the past. And "Insecure with fragile egos" does not cut it either. Well it might be true for characters like Hitler, but for the most part Human beings are, and have always been influenced by...., and rewarded with power/domination over other human beings. Who\what is influencing them?
