I guess for me trying to see things from there point of view when I was there age and the way I used to make the same mistakes gave me a better understanding.I tried to aproach my son from his level and let him know I was once his age and let him know I made the same mistakes and here is what happend. Let him know some mistkes or attitueds effect the rest of your life say this in words he can understand and let him know that some of these mistakes cant be fixed later on .This worked for me not right away but after they had time to think.
