It is upsetting that one can finally be a proud homeowner, just to come to find out that these HOAs have more restrictions than any apartment complex. Crud!! They can tell you if you can have a satellite dish, how many trees you must have, what kind and where to plant them, and what wood you may use for a fence, if you can HAVE apool, what kind of pool, where to park your vehicles, where NOT to fix your car, when you can mow.... the list goes on. Most people are so eager to close on their new homes that they don't actually read the minutes and rules of the HOAs. You can LOSE YOUR HOUSE and be sued by your HOA for non-compliance.

Something tells me they never used to take polls about tobacco use in the old days, before they even knew it caused cancer. I grew up Army, and most everyone in the service seemed to smoke. And, yeah, it's bad. But, when they remove one addiction, another will pop up. And who am I to tell some soldier in the fray that he/she is naughty for relieving stress that way? Beats bar brawls and rapes, etc. And, this money the service will save..... will it go to the UNDERPAID SOLDIERS SOMEHOW??? I doubt that!!! |

I know how that can feel. Over time, you will start to find other interests and things to occupy your time. I know you miss them madly and you always will when they go for the weekends, but you will come to find other interests and it will be good for your growth. So, just keep your chin up, sweetie. You'll get there!!
