it always pains me so to see Arthurian legends so twisted around...
It wasnt Arthur but Gwain the question "What do women want?", was posed by the Queen (Gwain was her champion and therefore obligated to take the quest) the "witches" name was Ragnel, (one of the ladies of Avalon) and the only one who knew the answer, in exchange for which he had to marry her first... to everyones dismay Gwain introduces the horrid Ragnel to court..marries her and on their wedding night he finds in his bed chamber the most beautiful woman hes ever seen...he defers the decision of when to be beautiful to her... the point of the story is that what women want most is AUTONOMY...the right to chose their own destiny.. |
