The Pain
Pain
Voices thousands upon thousands intermingled with one another pushing me prodding me forcing me to fight the pain The agony the sweat the testament to my dreams this one moment I believe I can I will fight through the pain Victory is so far away but close enough to envision I hear them the voices thousands upon thousands intermingled with one another pushing me prodding me forcing me to fight the pain |

The First
Autumn’s first leaf drifted through the days melancholy as if it were searching for what wasn’t there but should have been Maybe it was the sun’s presence that was missing or the ground was too far a fall but something wasn’t right something was missing Autumn’s first leaf floated through the cool air like a lonely soul searching for someone just to talk to someone who would listen to a thought or a dream Maybe it was you that was missing or maybe life was just too much for me to walk alone but once you have that first kiss the last one always leaves you searching |

Riddles
QUOTE: My body leans In the scene to the left Where my soul in perfect time It starts to melt My body leans In the scene to the right Where my soul in perfect time Finds dreams to smelt My body stands In the scene in the middle Where my soul is froze in time And nothings felt A brief touch of left It did create the light To vaporize the right In scenes of inner fight From a stagnate middle When you’re feeling brittle And the meanings riddle Where all feelings ripple Nice |

Army Brats
Dashikis Bell bottoms the record player blaring away Earth Wind and Fire and then the arm drops a Marvin Gaye tune Swedish meatballs and pigs in the blanket deviled eggs too Miller, Tanqueray, Bacardi and of course Coke My brothers and I sat on the stairs listening to the music and watching our parents hang out with a few of my father’s army buddies and their wives We suppress our giggles because the sight of mom and dad dancing was enough to make all four of us Army brats roll over in laughter Our dad was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany at the time I can’t remember the exact year but I do remember how much fun our parents had being in love |

Feel lost
QUOTE: Why do i feel so empty, why is it that my heart aches, it feels like it is bleeding, without your love. Feel i have lost you, feel that you have found someone else, that has made the spark fade, even from my eyes and smile. You seem so distant and far away, since the time i heard from you last, not a word from u in weeks, has made my heart ache for you more. My smile has turned upside down, the sparkle gone from my eyes, with all the pain that my heart feels, cause yr love has been gone for days. I waited and waited to hear from you, not an email or a call to let me know. How you are or whats going on, only the game of guessing whats going on. The thoughts of you run through my mind, your words stain my heart n mind, how caan my heart take this pain, as it build a brick wall again. I never felt so lost ever in my life, the days so gloomy n dark, so lonely, just want to cry all the time, since i lost you all those years without a word. Very nice piece . . . sad though. |

Love's Complications
Love's Complications
I ignore the tears Thinking Only of the passing years Love's complications and pain The rise and fall As times change But dark roses need light Just as lost souls Who struggle and fight There has to be Something better For you and me Because saying hello again Is as bad as As saying a goodbye that has no end

QUOTE: If the first date is going well, is there a possibility of a kiss? Or is that always saved for later? YOu kiss and do whatever else you want to on the first date. But I personally advise that you take time to discover something deliciously unique about someone first and then move on to beautiful things. But this is only how I do things. |

I JUST WISH
Personally, I've never understood waiting for someone. I think that you get out and live life. Meet people, discover how beautifully different they are and how much that create new thoughts and ideas withion you. Soon enough, you will discover that you've waited on anyone but rather you discovered exactly what it is you want and need simply by living. I also believe that if you're waiting that means you're waiting for someone to fit the mold you're looking to feel. How about being flexible enough to not worry about likes and dislikes and focus on discovering something new and exciting in someone else.

do i kick him to the kerb
QUOTE: thats the thing my head n heart is saying talk it through and make ground rules for he only sees his son once a month for they live far away... But again i've had this happen so many times to me but they were never as sorry about it as he is... Enough said . . . if this type of thing has happened to you before then you're putting yourself in situations that probably aren't necessarily the ideal situation. Take a long look at what is happening and then decide. But don't take the opinions and thoughts of what everyone is writing. Decide for yourself but only after you think about it. If were me, I would realize that nothing is perfect in the beginning. But if given the chance, everything happens the way we need them to happen. Whether it's good or bad. |

Cell Phones
QUOTE: Do you think it's acceptable to answer your phone while out on a date? What about texting? Do you text or answer calls while on dates? If you have to ask then I'm guessing you already know the answer. |

QUOTE: I am a nice guy that takes care of my family and friends as much as i can,I stay out of trouble, recycle ,open doors for people at the store, stop and help someone broke down on the side of the road, I am the nicest person one would meet...But yet it seems like all the girls want a bad guy? The rude dude that likes to fight an be rude to everyone and lives off people? What is up with that? I am 42 years young and seen this happen alot.... First of all, it's not being nice or rude which determines why you or any other nice guy finishs last. It's what you decide what you want from life that determines that. Open the door and start a conversation. Help someone on the side of the road and talk to them, be yourself but don't be afraid to let someone know that you're interested in them. If what you do on a average day isn't good enough then change something but don't stop being nice. And in the end, if there is someone you want who doens't want you because you're not the "rude dude" then you're better off. Look at yourself as if you are the man and I bet women will start seeing you as being the man. In other words, how you portray yourself is how others will see you. If you portray yourself as being the nice guy chances are that's how women see you . . . but they may think you're too nice and that's boring. |

In My Mind
In My Mind
Oh, this is my song I close my eyes and imagine I’m the star on stage playing my soul out it’s an unreal experience a fantasy I get to the part where I hit this really high note and I imagine the audience screaming my name they feel my love for what I’m doing they understand that this is more than just music it’s the deepest part of me I’m moving to the sound rocking back and forth side to side tapping my feet ah, this is it this is truly it I’m in a world of my own until my girlfriend tells me to shut the “Bleep” up “You have no rhythm and you can’t sing” but I tell her, “In my mind . . . yeah, I’m the man” and she replies, “It’s nice to believe in yourself but you still have to be honest about who you are and what you can do . . . but I do love you” |

Life today is like the rain not the poisonous showers that seem to envelope fears and pain but the soft drops the ones filled with life’s rhythm so that when you move the pitter patter seductively moves with you as if that’s their purpose |

I take a deep breath and feel the warmth of the sun burning against my closed eyes the colors are so amazingly beautiful so breathtakingly real I fill my lungs with this perfection . . . and now I’m one closer to death but I’m intent on living as I search my dreams for the one that owns my destiny I take another . . . and now there’s one less one less breath one less minute one less moment to live and to love I take the last one and feel the mist wash over me I’m not sure if they are tears or the waves found at the end of the road but I am the dream now |

Sunday Morning
Sunday Morning
Clayton, NC 1957 dust swirl around as cars fill the dirt lot Folks in their Sunday best greet one another with a good morning as they make their way to the front door Ushers wearing black suits and white gloves escort family and friends to empty seats throughout the church The choir elegantly stretches and loosen their vocal chords while they wait for the pews to settle and the service to begin It’s a typical early Sunday morning hot and humid and even though the air conditioner is rattling away the only relief from the sweltering heat is the pastor’s word No one even notices no one seems to care that the heat is steadily rising as screams of hallelujah and amen expresses a deepening faith in something more powerful something far greater and more beautiful than you and I |
