confusing

Complicated euphoria

I breathe
the gentle
breeze
yet you
take my breath
away
and I like this
feeling
of being alive

Truly complicated

It's dark
the sun found a home within midnight
yet
there is so much light
that I can see
all that the world
has to offer
explain this
please because
I find myself
standing
and falling
at the same time

I could never imagine
how cold
life could be without the sun's warmth
to hold me
when love beautiful
was something new

Now the air
that once
filled my soul
has faded into an ungentle breeze
as the wind
searches for something new

I wonder
silently
yet aloud
as thunderous memories scream
to the steady rhythm
of my rain
my heart wants to ask
if I
was once
something new

In the Mirror

I close my eyes
believing then that it would not hurt
but tonight
feels the same as every other night
when a stranger takes you
then leaves you
a little less
than who you know you are

I close my eyes
and dream
as he lives out his fantasy with my soul
I wear a false smile
and choose words
to make him feel superior
maybe a moan
or a plea to pleasure me
yet this is not who I am

I close my eyes
and wait
soon he will be gone
and yet
he will remain within me
as my thoughts carry the weight
of my life
sadly the money
right now
is worth this unfortunate choice

Tomorrow
is my only escape
yet my eyes are closed
so I cannot see
the path
meant for me

They Ask Me

No time
to stop and smell the roses
life is calling
and the end of the day is near

No time
to wait for a moment
that's perfect
have to take what's before me now
as the end of the day is near

No time
to hear the silence
to revel in its solace
there is so much to do
before the end of the day

And when they ask
what's the rush
when they ask why not slow down
and take things nice and easy
all I can say is
at the end of the day
there is you
beside me
within me
and that's when I get to take my time
