I guess you are right i probally should not try and take him away since he is happy, but isnt there a saying that if you love someone you should do everything to get them back?

I need some advice. about a month ago i broke up with my boyfriend. We were both totally in love with each other. But my friends kept hassaling me, telling me that he was too old for me. And finally i listened to them. He was devestated. I still love him and i know he loves me still, or at least i hope. He says now that he is in this great relationship with this a guy, and he says he loves him, and wants to marry him. And he wont talk to me anymore because his boyfriend wont let him.
Please if one could give me advice and help me, it would really be appreciated.
