Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop
using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! There
would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would
come
down, bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they
catch
an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle
and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to come to
America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's
pay
while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed
to
become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be
registered
to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter
illegal
immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the
aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to
serve,

ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem
solved

agree with you.but what about this "free trade" that canada and the
u.s.a. that we had for so long? are us canadians who go to the u.s.a.
now illegal aliens as well? i hope not.

joe any person that is a resident of and citizen of another country and
here on anything less than the needed documentation are illegal
immigrants in the eyes of the law.

I should say that canadians are not illegal if here on a visit but you
cannot legally work and live here, then you become the illegal
immigrant status

I agree with everything you said......plus we should ship all the
prisoners that have life without parole to help out in Irag which will
save more dollars here.

Yes Canadians should be allowed to visit as I visit many other
countries. BUT if you want to stay and work, then anyone from any
country must do it the legal way. Times have changed and we are no
longer trying to "fill up" a young America. Some laws should change. If
a person is over here illegally and then has a child, that child should
be considered illegal too. But as it stands now, the children from
illegal aliens are receiving more services for free than our own
citizens that have been here.

The great men that wrote the constitution could have never have
envisioned the trials of today's society. It is time to make changes
that reflect our needs today. Every other country is completely ok
refusing services to illegal people in the country!!!!!!!!! America
needs to get on board. Everyone is welcome to come here and go for their
dreams BUT do it legally.

AND GOD BLESS OUR GREAT AMERICAN SOLDIERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We, as Americans, place too much emphasis on the almighty $. That's why
people from other countries want to come here, to make $$. I really like
the idea of immigrants fightin for the country to be a part of it, but
then that will also open the gates on folks that want to sabotage
whatever they want.

They kind of already are......we need to enforce our laws. We are a
country with faults. Don't know of one that doesn't have any. There is
nothing wrong with asking people to get here legally. My ancestors had
to get permission to get in!
We did it the right way and now we do our share. I'm a teacher so I
can't say I make any real money but then again that could be a whole
other post. I'm an ESL teacher on top of that. Many of my students are
here illegally. Yet somehow I can keep my political views out of the
classroom. I literally spend hundreds and hundreds of my own dollars to
help the kiddos placed in my care. I tutor privately for free, help
their families get furniture AND if that isn't enough, I teach them to
hang on to their first language AND culture. I build their self esteems
and I won't allow them to bad mouth this country in front me as I don't
theirs. But they need to get here legally....plain and simple. In
reality there is no plan and simple solution. I will vote for anyone
that can change the way illegals are handled. But as for now, God has
called upon me to be a teacher. As long as a child is placed in my care,
each and every one of them will receive all I have to offer regardless
of their legal status.

I do have mercy and repeatedly share all that I have with the ones I
have in my life.....and this is a touchy subject, one that I have strong
feelings with and one subject at least on this forum that I shall keep
quiet on!

I think all the people who move here need to enroll in English classes
as soon as they arrrive if they haven't learned it prior to coming here,
we have too many foreign tongues talking in the American schools and
shops here. If you want to speak your homeland tongue then do so in your
own stores but learn English first if you want to be in our country.

And pray for the teachers that work unbelievably hard to teach it to
them. I sleep like a baby at night because these kiddos wear me out!

it's not just the illegals here that get better treatment than our own,
but the US goes out of it's way to help children of other countries with
operations and stuff than we do our own, even when ours don't have the
money any more than the children from wherever.

i got spurs it's not just the illegals in that sitution either, the
foreigners that come here and gain citizenship can work 7 yrs tax free,
I say if they want the american dream they can pay for it just the same
as us.

I may be a hipocrite especially since I'm a republican but I was quite
offended by this thread. I'm only 20 yrs old and I'm amazed how ignorant
some people can be.

I hate paying taxes! I'm against most government funded programs. Yet
statistically, caucasians are the majority claiming welfare. Illigal
immgrants can get a free education here until they finish high school.
Beyond that they're S.O.L. FYI illegals do pay taxes...they have to get
a Tax Payer Identification number that kind of works like a social
security number. At the end of the year they cant get any income tax
refunds. Conditions are difficult in almost every major aspect wether
its the government, healthcare, work force, and education. What about
all those countless americans mooching off the system and taking our
free education for granted? Why deny some one the chance to better
themselves who genuinely does want an education and isnt in school to
waste time and tax-payers money??

Oh and bush wants to cut down on gas usage because he also wants
americans to use 35 billion gallons of alternative-fuel sourses like
ethanol by 2017 at a rate of 7.5 billion gallons a year. Last year we
only used 4.9 b.g. which showed vast improvement in comparison to
previous years. illegals are also consumers and make the patroleum
giants richer.

LMN -- No easy answers on this one. Last fall, I was in downtown
Chicago one day and they were having a parade down Jackson St. (going
towards the lake) consisting primarily of Mexican immigrants. It was
something to watch. One man was holding a sign that said, "The giant
wasn't sleeping, he was working!" Gave me a hell of a lot to think
about.

The are the ones that genuinely want a great education and then there
are the ones that are taking away from others learning. Teaching isn't
all like the freedom writers movie......some of my students sit in class
doodling Mexicans burning the American flag and when I confront them on
it, the majority of them could careless. I celebrate my many successes
with improving the intelligence of my students but before anyone starts
talking about taxes and benefits, talk to a teacher.
I work two jobs. Because I will collect a teacher's retirement, I CAN'T
collect social security from my other job. Not only that (and here is
the kicker)........IF I AM MARRIED OVER 10 YEARS AND MY HUSBAND DIES, I
CAN NOT COLLECT HIS SOCIAL SECURITY AT RETIREMENT EITHER. Every other
working women can. Teachers are the only ones penalized like that. I
should make a thread on this topic!

I'm all for the "illegals" being here. For one, they are here to *work*,
and they work damn hard. In my line of work, I often deal with the
illegals, and most of them are getting ripped off by their employers.
The employers take out the "payroll taxes" - you think they're really
paying it? Ha.

Secondly, the majority of the illegals are spending the money on their
families. Either they send it back home to South America, or, spend it
here on basic necessities.

Third, they are in total fear of being caught and deported. Why? Because
while they await official 'deportation', they sit in a jail for several
months. Since they are in fear of deportation [again, I know this FIRST
HAND] they avoid the US civil systems as much as possible. To their own
detriment! They do NOT suck up our tax-dollars. If you say "their
children suck up our school-dollars", you need to rethink that for a
moment. The CHILDREN are AMERICANS. As a fellow American, these children
are entitled to education and basic services.

In summary, hard-working, polite, quiet people who are focused on their
family's well being, and culturally a little different than me are VERY
much the kind of neighbor I want to have.

-Mike
