Cheating can hurt just as badly if it is someone you know or if it is a total stranger. My ex cheated on me with multiple guys, one of whom was my cousin (he was totally wasted and didn't recognize her...) They all hurt just as much...
Cheating in any form HURTS! Anyone who would consider doing that needs to realize their relationship is over and break up first. JMHO
