The depth of the mind is much like the depth of the river. At times they rise and over flow, the river is unable to be contained by its banks just as the mind is unable to contain thoughts and emotions by common sense.

I lay here in this river, cooling my soul with the waters that flow in these banks. It is soothing to feel the rush of the waters run down my body. I keep my head up, peering long up river to see if anything is washing down to sway the path I choose to swim. I see things clearly as I keep my head above water; however I find myself wanting to dunk into the cool stream to feel the rush of the cool water on my aching head. Willing myself to take my eyes from what is ahead of me I submerge myself in the chilling waters. Enjoying the refreshing feeling and cooling sensations I hold my breath for what seems like hours, till the need for oxygen is required to sustain this body in the warmth of the sun.

I wonder how long it will be before these waters overflow the banks.
I wonder how long the banks will hold the waters of the season at bay.
I wonder when this river will allow me to sooth this heated soul in its cooling waters.

When will I learn that these questions may never be answered?
When will I know these questions have already been answered?

Like the rivers in my soul, I will watch the banks of these rivers, and I will be unable to contain the emotions of my life.
